Music Dump: The French Edition

16 Jan

Julien Doré – Paris-Seychelles

It’s a good mix of slow and chill, but has the tension and drama that resists the temptation to sleep.

DVBBS & Borgeous – TSUNAMI

This is a super heavy drum&base-esque club song. I’m not well verse in the different subcategories of electronic music, so I won’t even try. Though, there are a lot of songs that sound like this. At the drop, I thought it was going to become “Animals” by Martin Garrix. On the topic of Martin Garrix, these teenage DJs are making me question how productive I am at life. How old is he? 17? That’s crazy!

Bakermat – Vandaag (Although he’s Dutch… but I found it though my French binge searching, so I am including it).

Don’t let the beginning beats fool you, this song gets good around the 40 second mark (once the beat is accompanied by various instruments). I do love my melodies though, so it’s probably just personal preference. 1:30 is where it really did it for me. That trumpet. I don’t know what it is about trumpets in European electronic music, but they love ’em.

Sleepwalking in the Rift

This is absolutely gorgeous. The landscape is beautiful. The light on the skyline is spectacular.

80’s Walkman Ad

Who misses 80s ads, with their hilariously over saturated graphics? Well, you’re in luck! Watch this video I made for a class 🙂 It’ll make your life… seriously.

Drop City Yacht Club – Crickets ft. Jeremih

Not all free songs on iTunes are good. I still download them anyway. 1) because they’re free. 2) because… why not?
I’m so glad I downloaded this track. It is amazing! Reminds me of songs that came out back in 2010, especially Nothin’ On You by B.o.B ft. Bruno Mars, back when happy Bruno was still a thing and he wasn’t going on about heartbreak all the time (his songs are still awesome, just… a tad depressing at times. Someone just needs to give that guy a hug).

I think the music video is funny and fun. The arcade-like details are great too.

Here’s the song without interruption.

Panic! At The Disco & fun. – C’mon

2 Apr

First off, This is a super fun (ba dum tss!) colab.

Second, I thought Panic! At the Disco broke up (and dropped the “!”). Nonetheless, I am glad they released this song. Sounds enough like their old stuff, that I’m propelled back into High School.

Lauren Wright – Kiss Me

This sounds like a Taylor Swift song. I love Taylor, so it’s not a diss or anything, just an observation.

The 1975 – Chocolate

Fitting for today I think. Happy Easter everyone!

More.

This is a music video made by a student (if I’m not mistaken, his name is Kevin?) from Hunter College High School in New York City. It’s kind of awesome.

It gets a +1 just for having an awesome song attached to it. Here’s some more of Cheers Elephant’s stuff.

*Edit: THEIR LIKE WIND BLOWS FIRE ALBUM IS AMAZING!

Sakanaction (サカナクション) –The Dancer of the Night (夜の踊り子)

I kind of love this song. Way to go, random stumbling through related videos.
